1026 Steel is the designation in the SAE, AISI and ASTM systems for this material. Grade 1026 is a commonly used low carbon steel and has a carbon content of up to 0.28 percent formulated for primary forming into wrought products. Steel grade 1026 are commonly used in the automotive, appliance and construction industries, for example, some machining small parts such as gaskets, pins, bolts, nuts, etc. after carburizing or nitriding, friction parts, piston pins and gears can be manufactured; it can be used as forgings for pressure vessels of -20 ~ 475 ℃ after normalizing.
