H11 is a chromium-based steel hot work tool steel that is characterized by excellent impact toughness and good red-hardness.. It contains less vanadium than the H13 steel and better impact toughness. It can be deep hardened by heat treatment and air-quenching. H-11 hot work tool steel is recommended for highly stressed structural parts or maximum resistance to cracking is required such as aircraft landing gear, hot punches, die casting dies, forging dies, hot shear blades, hot gripper dies, and extrusion tooling.
